Mass E Bhat Trailers

We have just released the first trailer for Mass E Bhat. We had initially edited this months ago after the first shoot in March 2008 and used it to drum up support for the documentary. We recently just made a few changes here and there and added some extra shot from the later shoots in Sept/Dec/Jan.  More details about the documentary and this teaser can be found at the Mass E Bhat page. But in the meantime while you are here have a look at the teaser below and let us know what you think.

New AmaZulu scene uploaded on the AmaZulu page. It has taken us a long time to get round to uploading this scene but we have finally done it. We have also uploaded a deleted scene from Bafana. We totally forgot we had this and found it hidden away on one of our hard drives so we thought no point letting the video go to waste. Go to the Online Videos page to view these and many other Rainbow Collective videos.

Very soon we shall be posting two trailers from Mass E Bhat and a brand new Rainbow Collective showreel which  condenses four years of work in about four minutes.

Also we have created a new page Current Productions which gives details on what we are working on at the moment.

2009

We are anticipating a good year for The Rainbow Collective. We have two big documentary releases this year, our first is the short 'Baghdad Holiday' which is complete and will hit the festival circuit very soon and the second which we are in post production on is 'Mass E Bhat' which we completed shooting at the end of last year in Bangladesh. We have already started cutting Mass E Bhat and we are very pleased so far , this is our most ambitious project to date. We will be releasing a scene from the documentary very soon we are just waiting to clear the music rights and then it will go online. Both documentaries are financed by The Rainbow Collective.

As well as those documentaries we are also working on many educational videos, we are currently working on three with the Citizenship Foundation, also there are a host of videos we are doing with the education team in Tower Hamlets City Council and so far we are scheduled to be making a further three documentaries for Teachers TV. So we are hoping this will be a busy year for us.

Note: We have updated the online videos page where there are a host of exciting new videos.

   AmaZulu Wins PRIZE

AmaZulu: The Children of Heaven wins the jury prize at the Nantes British Film Festival. This is AmaZulu's  first prize and its honor to have received it at such a prestigious film festival. Our film was part of a great selection of British films from last year such as Boy A, Of Time and City, Young At Heart, Joy Division as well as many more (check out the link to see the full line up) .The screening was a huge success, it was screened twice over the weekend of the festival and there was a lively Q&A session after the screening. Both our documentaries were screened together with two other shorts by two East End based filmmakers (Jemma Gander and Miriam Rowe). Both their shorts were an insightful look into Ghana and we look forward to seeing more documentaries by the duo.  By winning this prize AmaZulu now goes through to the competition for the inter-festival prize which consists of winners from the four festivals Nantes hosts (German, British, Russian and Italian) that competition takes place in April so keep your fingers crossed for us.  Finally this was a comment from the festival director about our documentary winning the prize 'Its great news that AmaZulu was chosen for the Jury Prize! I think they made an excellent choice!
